Affiliation & Competition Entries – Season 2026/27
The online affiliation and competition entry process for the men’s season 2026/27 will open on 1 June 2026. As was the case last season, both affiliations and competition entries will be completed through the Comet Football Management System (Comet). (Step by step user guides for both the affiliation process and competition entries are provided below).
In line with the IFA Articles of Association, failure to affiliate by 1 September 2026 will result in your membership being revoked
A separate affiliation must be made for each team (1st XI, 2nd XI etc) and related costs are £25 affiliation fee per team plus the relevant competition entry fee (£10 for Junior Shield or Steel & Sons Cup; or £20 for Senior Shield) where applicable.
Please ensure that you input the correct team name if you have multiple teams, example:
- Linfield FC (1st team)
- Linfield FC (U20)
- Linfield FC (U18)
Unaffiliated teams will not be able to play any competitive fixtures.
You are asked to affiliate at the earliest opportunity and note that closing dates for competition entries are:
• Senior Shield 30 June (NIFL Premiership, NIFL Championship & invited teams ONLY)
• Steel & Sons Cup 30 June (Intermediate teams ONLY)
• Junior Shield 15 August (Junior teams ONLY)
